Marking Designation Meaning

ib Intrinsic safety The instrument contains an intrinsically safe

current loop. A current loop is intrinsically safe if

neither sparks nor thermal effects can cause the

ignition of a specified explosive atmosphere.

IIB Instrument group Electrical instrument group designated for

gas hazardous areas in accordance with

DIN EN 60079-0.

T4 Temperature class Maximum occurring surface temperature of

135 °C.

Gb Equipment Protection

Level (EPL)

With equipment protection level Gb, in accord-

ance with DIN EN 60079-0 (2007), a potentially
